Movies: Zombieland

Zombieland http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156398/
Funny zombie apocalypse flick. If you liked "Shaun of the Dead" see this movie. In actuality this movie was inspired by SotD according to the trivia.
Plot: Bad hamburger, infected with something akin to mad cow disease, infects a dude - he's zombie zero. Then it spreads. Our story follows a youngish (early college years) dweeb as he survives on his own, then gradually encounters a few more folks that have also managed to survive the spread of zombieness. Folks have trust issues, but are still somewhat compelled to stick together. Or not. Or ... ?
Easily recognizable stars Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin. Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone you might or might not recognize. Nonetheless, the cast does well, story is funny from the get-go and flows well. The characters get enough depth and personality and back-story to get more dimensional than cardboard cliches. Even one sad scene that played out somewhat predictably is funny in a way as well.
And, as with all good zombie movies, there's screaming, blood, feeding on corpses, exploding heads, driving over zombies, a variety of ways to kill zombies, wet splatter sounds - yep - everything that makes a good zombie movie. Bonus is the humor.
Good job writers/director/actors/crew.
This one gets humorous zombie apocalypse as correct as SotD did without being a copy or pale reflection of SotD. Sit back, enjoy. In fact, if you haven't seen "Shaun of the Dead" I recommend seeing that also.

And it Totally made up for having to sit through 2012.

Edit: Rewatched this when it hit the pay-movie channel circuit. Still a good movie. Easily rewatchable.
