The Men Who Stare at Goatshttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1234548/ Plot: A reporter meets a dude that claims he used to be a member of the US Army's New Earth Army - a unit that attempted to develop remote viewing and other psychic techniques to perform clandestine missions for the US. They then drive into Iraq and have adventures, all the while interspersed with flashbacks to history as it is told to the reporter. Stars George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey and others. Great cast delivers a flick that weaves fact and fiction into a coherent funny story. Don't expect a documentary, just the usual Hollywood mashing various events and people together into a story - but they did a good job of it. It's worth seeing at least once. Heck - it's amusing, it's a good watch, it even has Stephen Root. What's not to love? The facts: yes the US Army had a unit called New Earth Army that explored psychic warfare techniques. Yes the characters are more or less based on folks involved in that (and other US sponsored programs). Some of the things mentioned were reported as occurring. As for all the events all unfolding by these people in this manner - fictional rope to tie everything together. But don't worry about the facts vs. fiction, just sit back and enjoy.
Note: If you choose to rent it - be sure to not be fooled into renting "The Men Who Stare At Goatse" - otherwise you're in for a nasty surprise.

Edit 1: I recently rewatched this and enjoyed it even though I remembered everything from the first viewing. That's good on the flick, to be rewatchable.
