The Last Exorcism http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320244/
A documentary-style horror flick about an evangelical minister that allows his documentary crew along for his final exorcism.
Yes. The minister's documentary crew. Because he is quitting the business - exorcisms, preaching, everything - a business that's been part of his life since he was a child. He grew up preaching, you see. He tells the crew he's known the whole time he's been scamming folks, including his exorcisms. He decided to quit when he started reading about other exorcisms in the news that ended up hurting/killing the folks being 'exorcised'. To him, his business wasn't worth it any more because other people get hurt. So he's allowing the team to document his quitting the business, and go along on this one final exorcism. He even shows them the tricks he uses to fool the family of the gal he's exorcising (fishing line to wiggle paintings, pyrotechnics crucifix, etc).
So yeah - it's shot hand-held, as if they're doing a documentary. Except the acting ain't so great, the dialog ain't so great, the ending ... ugh. We've seen it all before in other exorcism movies.
And if'n ya enjoy the low-budget mocumentary exorcism type flicks go ahead. It's probably entertaining enough. Heck - watching this made me want to watch "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" again, just 'cause Emily Rose was so much better. If you haven't seen either - I'd recommend watching Emily Rose instead.
Plus I doubt an evangelical minister would be so frank about his quitting 'the business'. He's trained his whole life for that job, and it pays well, and it's bad business for the other 'exorcists' out there to be exposing the tricks of the trade. And the skill set really doesn't translate to much else except maybe infomercials and politics.
